Description: “MANIAC” RETURNS TO THE FLOOR IN BURN STUDIOS HOOK-UP Gomma All Stars and Peaches rework Casablanca Records’ 80s classic! In a new track and video released today, Burn Studios has brought together two of the world’s most exciting music labels representing two classic eras in electronic music, Casablanca and Gomma, to resurrect 1983’sdancefloor classic “Maniac”, in a unique homage project titled “Casablanca Reworks”. A risqué new music video accompanies the release of “Maniac”, first performed by Michael Sembello and featured in the movie Flashdance. The provocative 2012 interpretation, inspired by the high-cut leotards and flamboyant dance routines of the 1980s, has been revitalised by Gomma artist Moullinex and is available to view here: http://burn-studios.com/blog/casablanca_reworks_moullinex_video The remix, which features electronic luminary Peaches on vocals, is the debut track from “Casablanca Reworks”, a four-track EP of adaptations from the Casablanca Records vault – the legendary label whose music, with the likes of Donna Summer, defined the 80s electronic music scene. Peaches has also worked alongsidesome of today’s hottest music talent at GommaincludingTelonius, Munk and The Phenomenal Handclap Band to remaster Casablanca treasures “Our Love”, “You Can’t Run From My Love” and “Walk The Night”. “Casablanca Reworks” is available from Friday, 13th January. Remix contest For this huge project Gomma made a cooperation with their friends at Burn Studios / Audiotool. The great online music production tool. They had a great idea with developing the free online music producers community. Audiotool will get the stems of all 4 tracks in January for 6 weeks. All the kids in the Audiotool community will have the chance to create their own remixes. Gomma will release the best remixes with a subsequent Remix EP.
