Last year, Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard gave us the track “Gabriel” which, since its release, has endured overwhelming chart success and found itself the subject of several rather tidy remixes. Mostly recently, Soulwax, headed by David and Stephen Dewaele of 2ManyDjs, have turned their hand to the track. In it, the chorus line belted-out by vocalist Valentina has been given full pride of place and is buoyed-up by a rush of electro crashes and crunches.

We recieved well over a thousand submissions for the residency DJ contest, which saw up-and-coming DJs compose 15-20 minute mixes for the chance to win a 2 month residency at Ibiza's best clubs. After much deliberation, the submissions have been dwindled down to a select few. These DJs will go on to compete in the next round of the residency competition at live mix off events.

The mix off events will be held across Europe and presided over by leading members of the inudstry.

This summer, burn studios is looking for aspiring DJs to become residents at some of the finest clubs in Europe. The winning DJs will rub shoulders with the who's who of Ibiza's music scene at the International Music Summit as well as attending the burn studios residency bootcamp where they will partake in workshops run by the most respected names in the industry including Sasha, Luciano, Jamie Jones and 2 Many DJs.

This month, MARBLE and Burn Studios have joined forces to launch a remix contest. You now have until February 22nd, 12pm, to remix 'CONCRETE' by DAS GLOW (embedded below).

After this date, 3 remixes will be handpicked by Burn Studios. The winning tracks will then be announced on February 23rd's Sound Pellegrino Podcast and become available online through Burn Studios.

From there, each remix will be "likeable" via a "Facebook Like" button, until March 7th, 12pm (GMT).

We are having an ambient sonic bath today served up by Rubén Lominchar aka DJ Howard aka Bside. He is a musician, a sound engineer and a music producer from Torrejón de Ardoz, Spain and is the founder of indie netlabel Ciberdelia.  His offering is a beautiful, nineties flavoured downtempo track with a bit of dub and ambience... some say it's dreamland, some say it's chill out music.
