Earlier this year, Gomma Records, burn Studios and Peaches made a very important contribution to disco. Taking inspiration from the legendary Casablanca Records catalogue, the Casablanca Reworks EP is modern, unexpected and an irresistibly catchy update of dancefloor classics from the 70s and 80s. During that time Casablanca signed Donna Summer, Parliament, KISS and Stephanie Mills, as well as giving the history of music some of its most fabled stories. Taking on tracks from the Casablanca Records catalogue, burn Studios and Gomma Records have reworked some of the finest disco of the 70s. Moullinex, Munk, Telonius, and The Phenomenal Handclap Band each collaborated with Peaches on the project to produce an EP that is both a re-imagining of dancefloor classics and a tribute to the legendary label, Casablanca Records. After playing the reworks live in Warsaw, Peaches revealed what it was that first drew her to the project.

This month, MARBLE and Burn Studios have joined forces to launch a remix contest. You now have until February 22nd, 12pm, to remix 'CONCRETE' by DAS GLOW (embedded below).

After this date, 3 remixes will be handpicked by Burn Studios. The winning tracks will then be announced on February 23rd's Sound Pellegrino Podcast and become available online through Burn Studios.

From there, each remix will be "likeable" via a "Facebook Like" button, until March 7th, 12pm (GMT).

This is to announce that the Chrysta Bell remix competition has just come to an end as we are writing these sentences... We have received a glorious amount of reworks and there are lots of nice pieces amongst them!

All the submitted tracks will be reviewed by the jury in the next couple of days, so stay tuned and watch this space! Winners will be announced on the 10th of February 2012.
